Appearance is cream with pale brown tones, occasional yellowish and pink streaks, overall appearance of Blackbutt floors are reasonably consistent, generally straight grain, pin holes and gum veins can be present in this timber and you will find WA Blackbutt species tend to be slightly darker than Coastal Blackbutt. 

WA Blackbutt is softer than Coastal species with a Janka rating of 6.9 vs 9.1
